Basic Controller 3: app and setup

This guide is for bags whose controller label says Basic Controller 3, including older Fanny Pack 2 and Backpack 1 models. Check the label: the bag's purchase date alone does not identify its controller.

iPhone: use the original NEBULITE app

Open NEBULITE in the App Store. The developer is Veit Nachtmann. This is the original app for this controller; older instructions call it “NEBULITE Smart”.

The old TestFlight invitation no longer accepts testers. Use the App Store link above instead. BanlanX is not the app for Basic Controller 3.

  1. Connect the controller to a charged USB power bank and turn the power bank on.
  2. Turn on Bluetooth on your iPhone, then open NEBULITE. Allow Bluetooth access if the app asks for it.
  3. Search for the controller inside the app and connect to your NEBULITE device. Then try changing its colour.

Android: original app archive

The original Google Play listing is currently unavailable. The original NEBULITE 0.5.2 Android installer is in our archive. It is an older APK, and compatibility with current Android versions has not been confirmed.

If it installs, turn on Bluetooth and search for your controller in NEBULITE. Older Android versions may also ask for location permission to scan for Bluetooth devices. If installation or connection fails, send us your Android version so we can help.

Still not connecting?

If your bag lights up but the app cannot find it, email support@nebulite.berlin with a photo of the controller label and its plugs, your phone model, and your iOS or Android version. Tell us which app you tried. Please do not reset or update the controller while we identify it.
