Set up your Fanny Pack 4

Here’s how to light up your NEBULITE Fanny Pack 4 and connect it to BanlanX. You can use the remote without a phone.

1. Connect a power bank and switch on

1. Open the pack and the zip inside. You’ll find the USB connector there.
2. Connect a charged 5 V USB power bank. Press the power bank’s button if it needs to be switched on. The power bank is sold separately.
3. Press ON on the remote. You can also switch the lights on in BanlanX once you’ve connected the app.

To switch off, press OFF or turn off the lights in the app. You can unplug the power bank when putting your pack away.

2. Connect your pack to BanlanX

Download BanlanX for your phone:

1. Leave the pack connected to the switched-on power bank.
2. Turn on Bluetooth on your phone and open BanlanX. Allow Bluetooth or Nearby devices access if your phone asks.
3. If a sign-in screen appears, you can skip registration using the text at the bottom of the screen.
4. Tap + in the top-right corner to add a device, then select your pack.
5. Open the connected device to choose colours, brightness and lighting effects.

The iPhone app requires iOS 14 or later.

3. Using the remote

ON / OFF

Switch the lights on or off.

MODE ▲ / ▼

Move to the next or previous animation.

BRI ▲ / ▼

Make the light brighter or dimmer.

SPEED ▲ / ▼

Speed up or slow down the animation.

COLOR + / − and colour buttons

Change the hue or choose a colour directly.

AUTO

Cycle through animations automatically.

MUSIC

Choose a mode that makes the light react to music.

If something isn’t working

The pack won’t light up

First check that the power bank is charged, switched on and firmly connected. Then press ON on the remote.

The lights turn off after a short time

Some power banks switch themselves off when the pack draws very little power. Switch the power bank back on and try a steady colour or an effect with fewer dark intervals. If your power bank has a low-current mode, enable it as described in its instructions.

BanlanX can’t find the pack

Check whether the lights work with the remote. Keep your phone next to the pack while connecting, and check your phone settings to make sure BanlanX can use Bluetooth or Nearby devices. Then reopen BanlanX and tap +.

Reconnecting a controller you’ve removed

You only need this step if you’ve taken the black controller out of your pack.

1. Unplug the power bank first. The pack, connectors and electronics must be dry.
2. Open the rear zip and the white zip behind it.
3. Reconnect the controller to the two connectors you unplugged when removing it. Don’t force the connectors.
4. Put the controller and USB cable back in place. Make sure the cables aren’t caught when closing the zips.
5. Reconnect the power bank and press ON.

If the connectors look different or you’re unsure which goes where, send us a photo before connecting anything.

Care and further help

Follow the care label and instructions supplied with your pack when cleaning it. Keep the power bank, connectors and controller dry, and avoid sharp folds in the illuminated fabric.
